Shipments to Australia & New Zealand possible again from 2025:
Weeks of waiting times for quarantine checks in 2023/2024 made shipping to DownUnder unreasonable, but fortnately the situation has finally improved significantly.
There are more staff again for the controls in the ports for prompt processing, so we will be offering shipments to Australia & New Zealand again from 2025.

Nevertheless, this destination requires a high degree of flexibility:
The ships have space again, but often delays of 1-3 weeks . You should be prepared for longer waiting times with additional local costs for port & hotel.
The destination Australia / New Zealand is the supreme discipline when shipping overseas, as it is the most expensive and the most complicated due to the high cleanliness requirements. With the right instructions and a some time for cleaning, you can meet these requirements.
Once you are in the country, you will be rewarded with a paradise for campers.

Shipping

From South­ampton / Bremer­haven / Zeebrugge to Australia / New Zealand

There are 2 ships per month. Schedule will be published around 2 months prior to departure. Sailing time is 5 – 8 weeks depending on port of destination. The return shipment goes mostlikely over Asia and Panama Canal, so it takes much longer with 10-12 weeks.

Technical assistence

No problems with service and spare parts. Motorhomes in Australia & New Zealand are based on European chassis. Mercedes, Iveco, Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Ford.

Diesel & Gas

The supply of diesel (and AdBlue) is not a problem in Australia/New Zealand. Fuel prices are lower than in Central Europe.

 

Gas adapter for filling German gas cylinders and gas tanks are nessesary and can be bought from us.

Temporary import / Carnet

Tourists are allowed to use their vehicle in Australia & New Zealand without paying any import fees. A Carnet de Passage is required! This can be issued, for example, from your automobile club.
It`s valid for 1 year and can normally be extended for a 2. year.

On arrival your camper needs to pass a check if your it`s ready to drive.

Cleanliness

The Australian authorities pay great attention to the cleanliness of vehicles.

There cannot be any rust, dirt, sand or insects in/on the vehicle. You therefore have to invest some time to get the vehicle clean, including all cupboards and storage compartments.

You will receive instructions from us on which areas the authorities pay particular attention to, so that almost all customers pass the inspection without any complaints.

Bug treatment

Due to a bug plague (stink bug), all used vehicles going to Australia & New Zealand must undergo a special cost-intensive treatment.

The bug treatment in Zeebrugge has a fixed price of approx. €720 (max. L = 9.00m, W = 2.50m, H = 3.50m), larger vehicles approx. €1,190.

These restrictions do NOT apply to shipments from AUS & NZ back to Europe, as return is possible without treatment.

CALCULATION OF SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping costs are calculated according to the maximum dimensions of the vehicle:

Length x Width x Height = Volume

Each centimeter counts. If the dimensions have been altered the price may be affected. The freight rate is US$ 144,00 per m³ to Australia and US$ 154,00 per m³ to New Zealand.

There are 1-2 sailings per month. Schedule will be published around 2 months prior to departure. Sailing time is between 9 and 12 weeks. Sometimes there is a transshipment in Asia nessesary.

VEHICLE VALUE UP TO €50.000

For €300 we can offer you a marine insurance for a current vehicle value of up to €50,000, including baggage/content up to €15,000.

HIGHER VEHICLE VALUE

An upgrade to a higher vehicle value is possible (eg. €100.000 for €425).
